To Ystian

This photo was taken by my 14-year-old nephew and godson, Ystian. He is not aware of how talented he already is. Fine, being a teenager he gets a free pass to self doubt and uncertainty. However, I hope he stops second guessing himself as he is young, entitled to a box-load of boo-boos and mistakes. He shows me blogs of young photographers he admires and he doesn't know (and doesn't believe me when I tell him) that he is just as good and as promising as they are. And yes, with all biases aside, I think he's much better.


Ystian, don't hesistate, don't hold back, don't over think and do not give a damn about what others will say. Just be you, just be! Trust me, you're cut out for it :)
